The SA Dairy Awards have been held in partnership with the Dairy Industry Association of Australia since 2011, so in place of the competition being held this year, some of the previous entrants have shared their involvement with the Royal Adelaide Show.

After realising a gap in the market for high quality artisan ice cream made in South Australia, Barossa Valley Ice Cream Company established itself in late 2012 using locally sourced product including Jersey Fresh cream from the Barossa. A regular at the Barossa Farmers Market, over the years the company has expanded to also retail their product at a number of Barossa stores and wineries. They have exhibited at the SA Dairy Awards since 2013 and were awarded Champion Ice Cream in 2016 for their Salty Caramel Ice Cream.

Starting out with their flagship dessert cafe at Glenelg in 2005, with retail outlets now in McLaren Vale, Marion, Cross Road and Blackwood, Bracegirdles is a South Australian institution. Using sustainable, fair trade chocolate, they continually try to find ways to differentiate themselves from their competitors and seek customer feedback through limited, trial chocolate ranges. Having exhibited at the Royal Adelaide Show for 12 years, Bracegirdles have won Champion Chocolate at the SA Dairy awards in every year they entered since 2012 and proudly hold the title of ‘Australia’s most awarded chocolate company’.

Hailing from the mid north town of Laura, Golden North first started making ice cream in 1923, sourcing all their fresh milk and cream from South Australia. Now supplying the supermarket trade and food service industry across Australia and internationally, Golden North ice cream is proudly Palm Oil Free.
Since 2017, Golden North have been a sponsor of the Royal Adelaide Show as well as having exhibited in the SA Dairy Awards over the years, taking home Champion Ice Cream in 2013 fro their Golden North Honey Crunch.

From their humble beginnings in 1988, La Casa Del Formaggio has grown to be the leading Fresh Italian style cheese manufacturer in the country, and one of the biggest cheese processors in the state, employing 130 staff members and operating out of a purpose-built facility in Glynde.
Passionate about sharing our Italian cheese tradition with Australia, hand pick a selection of Friesian and Jersey herds to blend the perfect fat and protein composition, which is essential to the production of quality cheese.
La Casa Del Formaggio has been entering the Royal Adelaide Show Dairy Awards for over a decade and received both gold and silver awards.
